Adventure tourism: activity whilst in contact with nature, is one of the great attractions offered by the Region of Murcia. All along the coast, from Cabo de Palos and Portman to Cartagena or Mazarron, the Natural Park of Calnegre or Cabo Cope, there are numerous possibilities for hiking. In the inland areas, the visitor will find a complete array of sports available: climbing hiking, pony-trekking, horse riding, mountain-biking, pot holing, photographic routes, historical and archaeological routes, mountaineering, rock-climbing, trekking, rural tourism & rafting.

All are supported by a wide network of guest houses, campsites, and country houses located in beauty spots and other delightful settings, either in the countryside or sheltered among the quaint traditional buildings of the inland villages, blessed with a temperate climate averaging temperatures near to 18 oC and nearly 2,800 hours of sun a year. We can understand how these places have become resorts for relaxing at any time of the year.

Various specialised companies organise day-long activities which can be enjoyed in the heart of the countryside, on land, at sea or in the air, such as: pot holing routes through caves of exceptional interest, horse-riding, rural activities, white-water rafting, canoeing, cave-diving, deep-sea diving, paragliding, hang-gliding, distillation of aromatic plants and the extraction of their scents, hand production of cakes and cheeses, themed routes, camps and many many more. Visitors are certain to find both the place and the activity which best suits what they require and all within easy reach.
